" A small school perfect for anyone who only likes a close proximity of everything. The only downsides is the steep stairs! I highly suggest visiting the Career Center to help with anything job related (Resume, Cover Letters, Interviews, etc) CSUSM’s Career Center offers clothes for students who don’t have the finances to buy professional attires.
As for commuting, it was terrible and I heard the housing here is ridiculously expensive. I suggest looking for an apartment with roommates. There are plenty of FB groups who are looking for roommates.
Parking: Plenty of parking. I’m not sure what it was like before the pandemic but during the pandemic there was plenty. "

" Overall, you must make a real effort to be part of the social scene. Most people come to class and leave right after and dont talk to anyone. I would want to tell future students to get involved, you should live off campus, use rate my prpfessor, get an on-campus job if you can, and scan books in the library instead of buying them!! "

" I was happy overall with the student resources and centers. Everything as CSUSM was fairly easy to access and things like health services were rather cheap. I enjoyed the idea of U-hour which allowed students from 12-1pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays free time to engage in campus activities like clubs and such. Most of my professors were super caring and always there for extra support. "

" It was a fine university and the tuition is priced decently, at least compared to other universities. I personally had a decent-good time in all of my classes and besides the normal challenges one would expect from university courses I did not have any unpleasant moments due to the teachers. You will notice that I put a two for the social experience, I personally have been able to find a club where I made some good friends in the Anime and Gaming Club, but I still cannot give a higher rating due to the fact that being a commuter school means that people just come and go through the school. This means that even if you make friends or meet someone it is very likely that you both will just leave for home after class. Overall though I would say this is a solid university. "

" While the professors are genuinely supportive and really great teachers, the administration is a mess. They definitely give special treatment to specific demographics and its hard to access things when you're outside of that. I do not like CougarBot, the "helpful" bot is annoying and cannot answer a single question despite being designed to answer FAQs. "
